I knew there was a catch!!

19 years without the whale tail!!

Yup ... Last Carnival cruise was on the Ecstacy in 1994 (about 4 years before it caught fire off the coast of Florida)

This is for any of you hard core and cheap beer drinkers that may be taking a Carnival cruise.

Want the cheapest deal for beer on the ship? ... Well, I did some numbers crunching and came up with 2 scenerios (the 1st is absolutly the cheapest using the Cheers program and the 2nd is the cheapest without the Cheers)

Scenerio #1. The Cheers program will cost you just about $50 per day after the gratuity is paid on the program. With this, you can get 15 beers total per day.

Ordering 15 Foster's Lagers in the 25oz can will get you a total of 375oz of beer.

This works out to be 13 1/2 cents per oz. at the $50 price you paid for the Cheers program (13 1/2 cents x 375oz = $50)

At 13 1/2 cents per oz, this would be the same as paying $1.62 for a 12 oz beer (13.5 cents x 12)

Scenerio #2. Not using the Cheers program

Foster's Lager in the 25oz can is the cheapest beer per oz on the ship (cheaper per oz than even the Thirsty Red Frog house brand draft beer).

This big can of Foster's will cost you a total of $7.76 after paying the 15% gratuity.

Buying 4 of these will cost you $31. You now get a $2 discount by using the "Beer Bucket" deal. The price for these 4 beers is now $29.

4 beers x 25oz per beer is a total of 100oz.

So, at $29 for 100oz, that's 29 cents per oz. So, this equals $3.48 for a 12oz beer (29.0 cents x 12)

So, there you have it ... are my numbers flawed?

Smuggled case of beer= 24 beers for $20
