We are stopping in Toloun and know nothing about Toloun. What are the "not to be missed" things to do? We will be docking at 7 am and departing at 5. Any ideas? Thanks.

The things in Toulon that I found interesting are:

Le Petit Train (Le Mourillon + the old city route)

Cathedral

Cable Car to Mont Faron

Provencal Market

I'm not sure that there was anything "not to be missed" in Toulon. However, there are a lot of interesting places you can visit in Provence from Toulon. We went to Aix and had a very enjoyable day.

Has anyone either rented a car in Toulon or is contemplating renting a car in Toulon - while they are on a cruise port stop?

 

We are seriously considering renting a car during our 10 hour port stop and driving to Aix en Provence and to Cassis. Map wise it looks like it is very doable. My only hesitancy is the availability of parking spaces while in each location.

 

Can anyone encourage or discourage us to/from doing this.
