skiiergirl Posted May 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2004 I don't remember any info about the big mall in SJ. Does anyone know anything about it? I remember several crew members telling me they usually go when they are in port. Does anyone know the name of it? Does it have a website? Hours? How far is it from pier (OSJ or Pan Am)? What are some of the stores? Any other info? Thanks for any info you can give me.
JH1002 Posted May 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 18, 2004 Yes, there is a large mall, Plaza Las Americas. It is about 15 to 30 minutes from docks depending on traffic. A taxi will run about 12.00 each way and are quite easy to locate at dock and mall. It is a pretty typical mall. There is a Penneys and Sears, but in San Juan these stores are much larger and nicer than the same here. There is a new Macys and many, mnay small shops. This is a web site with both spanish and english information. http://www.plazalasamericas.net/ It's a pretty mall, recently it has been renovated. I always seem to end up there sometime pre cruise as I forget items or I hit the adjacent KMart for a decent pillow and snacks. JH "Born To Cruise" 23 Voyages and counting! gtaylor Posted May 18, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 18, 2004 skiiergirl; You can also get there on a direct bus (no transfers) from the OSJ bus depot at the piers. $.25 each way. 15 - 20 minutes sounds right. I think it's still the B21, but you can always ask at the bus depot. Didn't you ask this question before? _____ We must sail, sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it -- but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.
