firstplacechef Posted March 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2013 Just wondering if anyone has ever had an upgrade? I've noticed all of the lower cats have been sold out for some time for our cruise, but the cat A is still avail. Now I know on the older ships there is not much difference in the deluxe cabins besides location. But wondered if they moved someone up to sell the lower priced cats to fill the ship or do they sail with empty cabins. Not looking for an upgrade, btw, just wondered. I'm weird, I know, lol. id est Posted March 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2013 They do upgrade and they do sail with empty cabins: we had 9 empty cabins on our last cruise.
travelfirst Posted March 7, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2013 Four of us went on our first river cruise with Viking a few years ago and we all got upgraded.
pacmom Posted March 7, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2013 Sometimes a group books a specific numbers of cabins at a specific price, so the upgrade fairy can visit. This happened to us on our first cruise with another line. We were upgraded by Viking on our China trip--to the fifth deck--lovely large cabin.
