purduemom1 Posted March 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2013 Several posts mention that the cruise ships' Antigua On Your Own bus drops off at the tourist center. I would like to know where that center is in relation to the central park and the Cathedral. We plan to meet up with a relative not on the cruise and need to give him info as to where we will be getting off the bus. Thanks for your help
mcmarya Posted April 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2013 When we took the tour on Holland America (probably the same for all the cruise lines) we were dropped off at the Jade Factory--it should be on any of the tourist maps. It's on 4a Calle Oriente and is probably 3 or 4 blocks from the central square.
purduemom1 Posted April 11, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted April 11, 2013 Thank you, Mcmarya. We will be on Celebrity and you are probably right about busses using the same drop off. Is there a visitor center near the Jade Factory?
LocoLoco1 Posted April 15, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2013 Just back from Antigua,Guatemala. The HAL motorcoaches worked out a deal with Jade SA's jade shop....They off load right 'round the corner from their store. Folding chairs in shop's courtyard for cruise tourists serve as the 'Tourist Center'. It is exactly 3 blocks East of Central Town Square. And yes, the streets are cobblestone in Antigua.
