sherman931 Posted March 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2013 Just printed my boearding pass and noticed something new. A wine policy as shown here: Thank you for observing our carry-on alcohol policy. As a reminder, adult passengers are permitted to bring one 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne onboard per voyage, which will not be subject to a corkage fee if consumed in the stateroom. Additional wine or champagne bottles are welcome, but will incur a $15 corkage fee each, irrespective of where they are intended to be consumed. Liquor, spirits or beers are not permitted. Please remember that luggage will be scanned and alcohol outside of our policy will be removed and discarded.

Thanks & this has been discussed often in the past several weeks including any affects due to these changes which so far none have been reported. It's good to know that the wording has changed after Princess originally said they would prohibit any additional bottles from ports of call. They had many upset passengers who contacted them and they decided to eliminate that additional restriction. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1778041 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1779839
AuntBea Posted March 11, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2013 So....if I buy any booze in port and try to bring it on, they THROW IT AWAY instead of storing it until the end like they used to?!?! Not cool
Astro Flyer Posted March 11, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 11, 2013 So....if I buy any booze in port and try to bring it on, they THROW IT AWAY instead of storing it until the end like they used to?!?! Not cool It says that anyone trying to sneak on booze in their suitcase at embarkation will have it discarded: "Please remember that luggage will be scanned and alcohol outside of our policy will be removed and discarded". I don't think that the procedure in ports of call has changed where they would hold any alcohol purchases until the last night. I've never tried to sneak on booze at embarkation or in ports so I don't know if they discard booze when attempting to sneak it onboard from a port or would hold it until the end of the cruise. And that additional bottles of wine or champagne may be brought onboard with each one charged $15 corkage even if consumed in the stateroom..."Additional wine or champagne bottles are welcome, but will incur a $15 corkage fee each, irrespective of where they are intended to be consumed". eandj Posted March 11, 2013 #8 Share Posted March 11, 2013 As with other lines, if one wants to "test" the rules, go ahead. If "caught", accept the penalty. Pretty simple. i think every port, date, itinerary, ship etc will have their own policy. You know during spring break, holidays, etc they'll be a little more vigilant.
