Is booking a "suite guarantee" a good idea??

We are thinking of booking the Jewel for this November or December. We want to try a suite and when pricing the "romance suites" which are the cheapest suite accomodations it offered a "guarantee". Since there are only a few romance suites does this sound like a good idea? They have to match or better the accomodations. Would this be a good shot at an upgrade? Any advice would be appreciated.

Only book a guarantee where you would be happy with the minimum in that category. Never plan on an upgrade, that way, if it does happen, you will be very pleased. If not, you will not be disappointed.

I would book a guarantee for a suite because the minimum you'll get is the Romance Suite and if you're happy with all of the locations where those are, you'll at least get that. However, look at the categories above you and the locations of those rooms. If by chance you are upgraded or offered an upsell, make sure that you're happy with what you could possibly get. It would be terrible to pay for a Romance Suite guarantee and get bumped up a category or two and end up with a bad location, etc.

I agree w'/ Cecilia. Study the deck plans carefully. Are there any suites in a higher grade that you would NOT want to have (due to location for example above the nightclub, or below the pool deck, or opposite an elevator, obstructed view?)

 

If so, pick your cabin. If not, go for the guaranty, you may be pleasantly surprised, and if not, you'll have a great romance suite anyways!
