Bigun60 Posted March 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2013 I am sure this question has been asked but..... If you don't use all your OBC do they give you the remainder back in the form of a check that last night? Never had any left over before but I think I may this time. Happy cruising everyone. n6uqqq Posted March 12, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2013 Some OBC is refundable and some is not. Best to check what kind you have.
k2excursion Posted March 12, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2013 If you have OBC that is not refundable, the way to get that back is to go to the casino, and set up a players club account on a slot machine. Charge money to your sail & sign account, enough to cover your nonrefundable OBC. Play however much you want to play, then cash out.
violetsmile Posted March 12, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2013 I was just wondering this myself, and is why I came over to the boards this morning. I swear on our cruise last year that we got a check for over $70 on the last night (which I cashed on board), and most of the money was from ES Price Drops, plus $15 or so from refunded port fees. We have a lot of OBC for our upcoming cruise, andI just applied for more...I am thinking we won't spend it all. $100 is from an FCC, and I know that's not refundable. The rest is from Early Saver Price drops. I was just reading the Early Saver fine print, and it says very clearly: "The on-board credit is non-refundable, non-transferable and has no cash value. Any unused portion of the onboard credit will be forfeited" (http://www.carnival.com/legal/specials-terms-conditions.aspx). I'm wondering if this is new with the changes to Early Saver, and the advent of all the new rates? Anyone else have experience with getting back Early Saver money? My experience in April 2012, however, was that it WAS refundable. On your account statement (that you can get on board), it will show how much OBC you have and what is refundable and what is not. They will apply against the non-refundable first. However, its possible that Carnival has started enforcing its rule about ES being non-refundable lately, since they have been stricter with a lot of things. Worst case, if it ends up being non-refundable, find some way to spend it or try the casino cash out method. If nothing else, I am sure you can make some great friends on board if you are stuck with some OBC that needs spending. :p
