Silhouette March 24-31...Watch for my Review!

Hi everyone!

I'm pretty quiet on the boards as far as posting and responding, but I do enjoy reading everyone else's posts, particularly the trip reports. So I'm going to follow suit and write a trip report of my upcoming cruise (that I will hopefully finish unlike my 10/12 days report of last summer's Mediterranean cruise :o).

I know its a bit unorthodox to announce that I'm going to be writing a report, but I thought it might give future travelers something to look forward to or if anyone had specific questions I may be able to find the answers to onboard.

About the Travelers - I'm Shannon, a 32 year old Speech-Language Pathologist and my mom who is recently retired (last month!) from Law Enforcement. This is my Spring Break as I work in the schools. Both of us live in South Florida and LOVE cruising. This will be my 8th cruise in 5 years and my mom's 7th cruise. Celebrity is by far our favorite cruiseline and our last cruise was on the Solstice last summer with my brother and his family to the Mediterranean. Best cruise yet.

Our Cabin - We booked Aqua Class and when the price dropped a few weeks ago, moved from an A2 to an A1 a few doors down. Don't ask why. I guess I just wanted to feel like I was getting a deal :D We did AQ on our cruise last summer and fell in love with Blu which is the main reason we booked it for this cruise.

Our Ports and Excursions:

Cozumel - As this is the "President's Cruise", we were invited to attend a complimentary excursion at Playa Mia with lunch and open bar. We had planned on nothing at all so since this was free, we said, why not.

Grand Cayman - Seven Mile Beack Break at Tiki Beach with lunch, booked with Celebrity. Our 2nd time in GC but can't remember what we did last time, just that we went to a beach.

Falmouth, Jamaica - No excursions and may or may not get off the ship.

Labadee - We booked an over the water cabana on Nellie's Beach. This is probably the day I'm most looking forward to!

Other Plans - We always hit most of the shows in the evening followed by some time in the casino. We aren't spa people persay, but are very interested in booking an in-port spa package that we've seen offered so many times. Just for a little pampering. I'm also planning on hitting the fitness center for the first time on a cruise since I've been working with a personal trainer since December - don't want to lose my momentum! Especially with all the yummy food I plan on eating.

Dining - We have not made any specialty restaurant reservations and may or may not. I would like to eat at Bistro on 5 again or try the Porch since we have never eaten there.

Stay tuned!

I'll be eager to read your report, as I'm headed on the Silhouette in a couple of weeks. If you have a chance, can you please share some info about the fitness professionals in the spa? I'm hoping that my cruise has at least one "real" trainer on board, since working out is one of the things I'm looking forward to. Have a great vacation. And congratulations to your mother on her retirement from a most awesome career.

Hi everyone! Happy Easter!

I'm at my Jim's enjoying some Easter family time and in a few short hours, ill be at my home, relaxing with the boyfriend!

Cruise was great, weather not so much for most of the cruise. I may start a new thread for my review...hopefully I took enough notes to write my review(not a whole lot of photos) but there will be some.

Stay tuned!!!

I have found it curious that no one has posted any information concerning CEO Bayley. Did he float around the ship talking to passengers? Did he hold a Q & A? Did he make any announcents about future plans? Like to hear more about the free tour. Happy Easter and welcome home.
