Anyone stayed in Allure Boardwalk room near rear?

Recommended Posts

I don't think there are any boardwalk rooms without balconies...but I could be wrong. We stayed in 12329, the last balcony room on port side overlooking the boardwalk, aquatheater, and ocean. It was such a great spot we booked almost the exact same room on Oasis next month. If you really want to see more ocean, go to the "private" public balcony by walking out your room, a few steps to the end of the hall and out to the balcony that nobody vists. You can see the ocean outside the port side as well as the aquatheater.

I am intrigued by these rooms. I have long wanted to book one but I am afraid of the distance from everything on a ship of this size. Is the walk dreadful every time you need to run back to your cabin?

We stayed in the end room on Deck 11 and the walk is dreadful!!!! I am in good shape and I don't mind walking but just about every place you go requires you to walk the entire length of the ship. It wouldn't be so bad if you could go up or down from the rear, but you need to walk back to the aft set of elevators to go anywhere. We booked this cabin as an experiment and I wouldn't do it again. It was cheaper than an oceanview balcony, but it just isn't the same!!!

My son and DIL had almost the same room as shown in the above photos, but on the starboard side. They loved the view, plus had easy access to the big balcony at the very end of the hall.

One night, however, Allure hit some pretty rough seas. Their closet opened and closed, the TV rolled back and forth on its swivel, a desk drawer opened and closed. The rest of the cruise was smooth sailing.

In spite of all that, they said they would gladly book that same cabin again.

We stayed in 12329 on the Oasis, the walk is long, and can be a pain if you are going back and forth. Having also traveled the Allure just outside of the midship elevators, I prefer to be midship

We had the very last cabin in back on deck 7 in January on Allure. Loved it! Can see ocean, and all the activity on board toward the back. We thought it was the perfect spot and would book there again. It is a bit of a walk but considering what we had eaten we didnt mind the exercise. LOL.

We just got off the Allure on Sunday and had the last cabin on deck 11 starboard side (11729).... which is the exact same cabin of the above poster's with pictures, just opposite side. My dh kept thanking me for choosing this cabin. We loved the views both from our balcony and the secret public balcony just a few feet away. That balcony never had more than two additional people on it, so it was so nice to 'get away' from everything whenever we needed to. Noise wasn't an issue for us, either. The noisy Boardwalk completely disappeared when you locked the balcony door, except when there was an event in the Aquatheater. Then it was kind of a muffled bassy noise you could hear, but truthfully, must times something was going on in the Aquatheater, we would grab a glass of wine and sit out on our balcony and watch it (we saw Oceanaria three times), so it was never a problem.

The walk to the room wasn't an issue, and we went back to our room an average of eight times a day. It is true walking down the long interior corridor from the forward elevators all the way back to your can be dreadful, but we avoided that whenever possible. We just almost always took the aft elevators. The walk to the aft elevator wasn't long at all and I wore 5 inch heals every night.

A quick ride down a few flights on the aft elevator and the doors would open onto the casino, or the promenade, or Boardwalk, or Central Park. A quick few flights up and you were on the sports deck or right outside the Windjammer. The times you did have to take a walk was when going to the Amber Theater or the Solarium as those are all the way forward...but those times we walked aft on the wide open decks we were on first and then grabbed the aft elevator.

The winds were very strong this past sailing and the seas were rough three days (first officer told us 10-12 foot seas one day and 12-15 another day). We didn't find our cabin any more unsettled then elsewhere on the ship and we do get seasick and have to take Bonine around clock, so we are not known for sea legs. We actually enjoyed being rocked to sleep and slept like logs each night.

We will definitely book this location again... loved it!

My wife and I will be in 12723 on the Allure in May which is 4 rooms from the back on the starboard side. We've talked to a couple of people on here who have booked the same room and they both loved it and had nothing bad to say about the cabin. They said it's great because you still have the balcony and the ocean view from the back and something to look at at night as opposed to a dark ocean and plus the balconies are much less windy than the ocean balconies. I haven't been on this ship before but I'll repost again afterwards if I can remember it.

Had that room on Allure...AWEFUL

Maybe it was just our cruise, but we were serenaded by a Celine dion concert on the big screens at full decibel level until well past 2:00 AM until I called and complained that we could not even hear our own TV with the balcony door fully closed. Funny thing was, the aqua theatre and boardwalk was completely empty.

It is also pretty noisy with other shows at night if you go to bed around 9-12 pm

I would highly advise not booking this room, but book a balcony facing out to the water.

We had 12325 on Oasis and loved it. Third from the end - great views of the Boardwalk, the AquaTheatre, and the ocean, plus the rarely used public balcony on the aft was very close by.

We were thinking of trying ones of these rooms but then I started reading posts like yours about noise issues and also noise from the carosel. We are light sleepers and not late night folks so we are sticking to the ocean balconies.

Personally, I like the walk to and from the AFT, I can understand someone with limiting disabilities which prevents the from walking long distances, but what I don't understand is why someone who is healthy and able to walk complain about the walk? Enjoy it, you are on vacation and it also allows one to enjoy more of the ship! I also always try to take the stairs instead of the elevator, helps burn a few more calories.
