edYYZ Posted June 15, 2005 #26 Share Posted June 15, 2005 We are cruising with my parents in the cabin on one side and my brother and his wife on the other. That is way too much information !!!:D :D  is all I have to say.. LOL! Can't say I've heard anything along these lines... although I don't really spend much time in the room.... AndiandMike Posted June 15, 2005 #27 Share Posted June 15, 2005 Not that I'm a fan of broadcasting my activities with my handsome DH, HOWEVER, one must take this into consideration when on your balcony. Although you are quiet, although it is dark and you're in the middle of the ocean, if you're really close to the bridge, I might suggest you NOT engage in activity on the balcony. On our last cruise one the CB, it was very very dark at like 2 in the morning, and when I looked up for a brief moment, all I saw was the white uniforms of 2 crew members on the bridge watching......not my finest moment, but it gave Mike and I something to crack up about at breakfast the next morning. cruzinchris Posted June 15, 2005 #28 Share Posted June 15, 2005 Does anyone remember this film? One of the scenes takes place on a sailboat anchored in the Caribbean. One couple is making "whoopee" while the other two couples on board react to the "mating calls." It's hilarious! The only "sounds" DH and I have heard on Princess ships is the drawers being opened or shut, toilets flushed, and water running in the shower/tub. Bon Voyage! fakeanne Posted June 15, 2005 #29 Share Posted June 15, 2005 I'm on CP right now and the answer to that is a big YES! You can even hear them walking down the stateroom hallways.Sorry.
BJS Posted June 15, 2005 #30 Share Posted June 15, 2005 On most of the 17 Princess and 3 HAL cruises have never heard anything except the mentioned toilets and showers other than when balcony doors are open or people are on their balcony next door. The Royal Princess you could hear muffled voices and HAL Ryndam occasionally voices could be heard through the walls. Last time we were on the Dawn we listened as we walked down the halls because of previous posts about sounds coming out the large door vents but never heard anything. The newer ships are much more sound proof than the older ships you find on other lines.

hcs81m Posted June 15, 2005 #32 Share Posted June 15, 2005 When I was on Celebrity's Zenith with my ex-husband, we were quite busy in the room, and one evening we ran into our next door neighors in the hallway, and they giggled and the teenage son said, "Sounds like you're having a good time" or something to that effect. I was SO embarrassed!!! LOL same thing happened to a buddy of mine. His neighbor said something to the effect "I surprised to see you made it out of the room"
zachnlucy Posted June 15, 2005 #33 Share Posted June 15, 2005 It's the banging on the wall that we heard last time, and it wasn't even in rhythm. bang bang bang ... bang ... bang bang. Must have been newlyweds. :D

cpayne Posted June 15, 2005 #36 Share Posted June 15, 2005 We've heard people through the walls on numerous cruises. The worst was last summer on our Alaska cruise aboard NCL Spirit. The couple were continously fighting and violently so throughout the day. You could hear him slapping her and throwing her against the wall at one point. However, by evening each night they had apparently "made up" and we'd hear this as well. Each night the wife would go on and on with, f#$% me....f#$% me (pardon my repeating of their language). By the last night my husband had enough of listening to this night after night. He banged on the wall and yelled, would you just f#$% her so we can all get some sleep?! Here's the sad part to the story.....they had their approx 3 yr old son with them and during all this you could always here him playing or crying in the background! :(

cammie10 Posted June 16, 2005 #38 Share Posted June 16, 2005 Can honestly say that we have never heard a thing on all of our cruises with the exception of toilets flushing and doors closing. Boring eh?
Suzieb Posted June 16, 2005 #39 Share Posted June 16, 2005 Since none of you know me (unless we decide it's worth it to clue you in on our ship, hehehehe) Our Cabin will be busy. During this cruise we will be making the mental (and therefore physical) transision from preventing a pregnancy to trying to create a baby. But we'll keep it down for you folks:p I'm anticipating there won't be a problem with miss ports....for us. I've already said to much, so now I'll cover my crimson face and crawl away....:o Hope your are succesful with your cruise ship souvenier :D
sueandkent Posted June 16, 2005 #40 Share Posted June 16, 2005 We really never heard anything while on the Diamond last year except for a bit of the odd hallway noise. I wonder who heard us lol!!!

We came back to our cabin one afternoon and ships security was escorting the man from the cabin.
seattlekckckc Posted June 16, 2005 #43 Share Posted June 16, 2005 On a similiar note, often of the same volume as this thread - can you hear babies crying very easily?? I have either never been next to one, or the answer to my question is "no". I dont know what I would rather listen to! A couple of honeymooners or a baby crying all night! FredS Posted June 16, 2005 #46 Share Posted June 16, 2005 We have never been bothered by noieses coming from neighboring cabins. Sometimes I have wondered if people were even in them it has been so quiet and not seeing anyone coming or going from the cabins.
ado Posted June 16, 2005 #47 Share Posted June 16, 2005 Can people see you from your balconY??? Oh Yeah!! Grand Princess Aloha Deck (nice and private, right??!!) cruzzers Posted June 17, 2005 #48 Share Posted June 17, 2005 I dont' recall ever hearing anything other than some hall noise. We did have an obstructed view on our last cruise and I always forgot about the little guys working on the tenders right outside our windows when I came out from the shower.......well they saw more than they wanted on several occasions. I just gave up after a few days and even thought about doing a naked full body blow fish on the window. Hubby wouldn't let me.
WazAnOkie Posted June 17, 2005 #49 Share Posted June 17, 2005 I just gave up after a few days and even thought about doing a naked full body blow fish on the window. LOL - what a mental image that makes. (and I have one wild imagination!) After reading that, now I remember why I don't drink coffee while reading Cruise Critic. Laughing while drinking coffee --- Hot coffee thru the nose hurts. And in case those windows should be dirty, check out: http://www.halfbakery.com/idea/Blowfish_20Tearaways before giving someone the blow fish....
