Michael @ 1-888-672-2582

Do not know how to reach him directly -- only have the 888 number.

Thank you, this worked just now for us. I called Michael @ the # 1-888-6722582. Told him my DH's name & birth date. He looked it up. He came back on the phone & told me he is now getting $50.00 play credit on our next cruise in 3 weeks. He also asked for our new booking # & confirmed it.

Sure pays to read these CC boards:D

Thanks Mina:)

The only thing I have ever gotten was a few free drinks from the casino manager, particularly when I have hit royal flushes playing Video Poker. I have done 20 Princess cruises, and always play quite a bit, and consistently use my key card in the machines, so they know how much I am spending in the casino.

Never heard there was a chance of getting some free play!

Wonderful, ronnieslady! I found out about it through the casino board! Gotta love cruise critic! Now, wouldn't it be wonderful to actual win something on the slots! I hope they will also rate us on our table play, but we only bet minimums. We do play for hours and hours, wish they would take that into account!

I too am getting a nice chunk of change for free play for my upcoming cruise. I found that it really helps to get to know the Casino Manager, ask to be rated at the tables and before the cruise is over, ask him/her to put in a word for you with the Players club and before your next cruise you can get comps. Worked for me for the last 3 cruises. Good Luck Everyone!! By the way. Michael is the guy to deal with to get comps!!

Dug up a more direct e-mail address for Michael and just received a reply after only several days vs months on that general feedback address.

Unfortunately it seems that despite spending enough at slots last June alone to get offered items during play, Michael says: Unfortunately, you do not qualify for any pre-boarding comps on this cruise. Please ensure you check-in with the casino host once on board as they will provide you with on-board comps based on your level of play.

Ahh well, I'm sure I'll still spend my fair share of time and money in the casino anyway. :)

  • 5 months later...

There has been wealth of information on this thread! I have both phoned and emailed in the past and found that phone contact works best. We are leaving in three weeks and I called the VIP number about a month ago. I spoke with a lady and was told that based on my cruise history, I would get $75 on this cruise. I actually felt that was a little low considering the amount of time I had spent in the casino (winning, of course ;) ) but said Ok and hung up. After hanging up, I remembered she had said something about " my last cruise in Feb.". It did not register at the time but after some thought, I remembered that my last cruise was in May and that the cruise she had looked at, was a 7 day cruise. The May cruise was a longer TA., I called back and asked the lady to look at the May cruise and was told I qualified for $400 on my next cruise. Now I know I spent too much (time?) or something in the casino but a word to those who do more than one cruise a year-Pick the longest one (or at least the one you spent the most in the casino) and have the VIP folks look at it for possible comps. I could go on, as I have found out much more from a facebook friend that works in one of the casinos but this is long enough. ENJOY:)

For those of you that have been given credits, can you give me an estimate of the minimum you normally spend in the casino. Are we talking about a $500, $1000, or considerably more?

On any given cruise, I spend anywhere from a couple of hundred to a thousand. Only on the last 2-3 did they start tracking my cruise card whenever I sat at a table. Unfortunately, on the cruises that I have put out the most money, there was no tracking at all :(

Thanks

Thanks. We have dealt with Michael many times, but always in connection with a Carnival cruise. We will phone him tomorrow and explain the dilemma of the Princess cruise.

Shirley

Curious - we sailed on Carnival and spent quite a bit in the casino - our March cruise is the first on Princess - are the casinos run by the same company, is it worth my calling?

Thank you!

In my conversations with the Casino group, the tracking is done (at least on the slots) by the amount of time you spend and your average bet. I saw folks that seemed to live at the $1 machines and was told that they tracked very well. Since I own some antique slot machines and have access to newer ones, I can tell you that the % favors the house. The longer you play the more likely you are to lose. I budget a specific amount for the casino ($500 for week long cruise0 and when I reach that limit I quit. If I get on a winning streak, as I did on our last cruise I will continue to play. I was lucky enough to come home with more than I took in and was able to play much longer. This happened to be a TA, so it was longer than usual. Also became very good friends with the casino host and his assistant. They provided me with some very good insight as to what they felt were better machines. Some of those included "bonus" features. I had the host/ Assistant host push the button one some of those bonuses and made friends for life. They consistently bought drinks for both myself and my DW (even when she was not playing). I have to say that it can do no harm to go out of your way to be nice to these folks.:)

I have never asked to be rated at the table, we spend lots of time in the casino, every night from around 11.30 till it closes, we are always pleading with the the bosses for more hands before they close, husband and I will probably budget for $2-300 each per night. Will do the same for my parents who will do the same. See how we get on!

I contacted Michael and he was very quick with his response which is wonderful to know for future reference.
We also didn't know we had to ask to be rated while playing Blackjack and we only dabble a little on slots, but at least now we know. Good luck to everyone.
