Independance of the seas help!!!

Hi I am not new to cruising as such, have cruised 5 times with Thomsons and thoroughly enjoyed them all. But I am doing a sampler cruise with my daughter and grandchildren (both have aspergers) and would like as much info as possible before we sail so as to prepare them as they have never cruised before.

Any information on meal times where to eat, drinks is it better to get a package or is there any free soft drinks at all and if so where? As we are only on the ship for 2 nights I would also like some advice as to the best way to get the most out of activities, do we need to book etc. we are travelling on the independence of the seas at the beginning of May.

Thank you
