Question re. San Juan and Customs

Hello All,

We are sailing the Valor out of SJU next January - my question is: Since Puerto Rico is a US territory, do we have to go thru US Customs on the way back? If so, where? At the airport in SJU, or when we arrive in Atlanta - we only have a 1 hour layover to get to our next flight to Detroit.

Those of you who have done the Victory/Valor out of SJU - any tips? Thanks!

Hello, per United Airlines (who I am flying into San Juan next month), you do not go through customs in the airport, since this is a US Territory. You will just show your license as if you were flying to Florida.

Puerto Rico is part of the United States, and the San Juan airport is a U.S. airport. When you get off the ship, you go through customs/immigration, and then you're officially in the United States. No further customs checks at the San Juan airport or in Florida.
