Is Mendenhal Do-Able IN 2 Hours?

Trying to determine if we will have time for Mendenhal in Juneau prior to a tour that will leave from the waterfront area near the cruise docks at 4:30.

 

We dock at 2:00. The plan would be to immediately take the blue bus to Mendenhal and walk the trail to the waterfall area, returning by bus. We could substitute a cab if the bus would not allow enough time there.

 

Can anyone tell me how much time is taken up by the bus roundtrip, and how much time we can allow ourselves at the glacier and be back at the dock by 4:30?

Have you asked the vendor of the tour if they can pick you up? Could save time.

what tour are you doing before your plan too do this? if it is a whale watching tour you can be dropped off or picked up at mendenhall. call the vendor as suggested and find out what your option are. other wise it will be a really tight schedule and a cab might be the best bet. it takes at least 1/2 hr each way for the bus trip. good luck

Your schedule is too tight. There is no guarantee that you will get seats on the first bus out to Mendenhall or won't have to wait in line to make the return trip.

You need two hours with the Nugget Falls trail and bus transportation. This is assuming you will immediately get a bus pick up at the dock and Mendenahall which you will NOT.

 

Only way to do this is have a cab arranged, figuring on a $60 round trip cost.
