Sorry I am late in following up with you all on the outcome here. And I am pleased to say it is good news. Mark Flager (Venetian Club) personally called immediately on receipt of my email. Within 24 hours they provided my travel agent a proposal that both satisfied my request and obviously kept their accounting and rules in tact.

 

They have earned our continued loyalty. And we are VERY much looking

forward to our Istanbul-Athens-Venice back to back on the Spirit in August!

Sorry to say this, but this is why you purchase insurance. I have to pay a small fortune each time I cruise to make sure I can get my money refunded in case something comes up that forces me to cancel.

I, for one, would be upset if I found out that someone was able to change their booking without buying travel insurance.

My travel agent always reminds me to purchase insurance when the time comes. If you choose not to, it is not the fault of the cruise line or the agent.
