Just back from Jewel on 4/14

This was our second time on the Jewel and we had a great time. We booked a regular balcony cabin on the 10th deck that served its purpose. We mostly ate in the main restaurant Tsars. Had no complaints. My daughter is on a gluten free diet and NCL did a great job attending to her needs. We did eat at LeBistro once and the food there did not disappoint.

Our cruise had a change in the in port scheduling. This was due to a part needed for a pump that was being shipped to Nassau. So we had an extra sea day on the beginning on the cruise and went to Nassau on Wed, GSC on Thurs and Florida on Friday. Actually this worked even better for us. We had no excursions booked so the times really didnt matter but we were at GSC at 08:00 and had a full beach day there and that is my favorite stop on the itinerary.

The crew was fantastic but the Assistant Cruise Director seemed to run everything. He was fantastic. He was everywhere and always had a great smile on his face. Jamie was the cruise director but her assistant really kept things going. ( from what we seen anyway)

Room steward was Jeffery.... great pat on the back to him. Done a great job and always there when we needed him. We met Eduardo in the Casino back when we sailed on the Dawn and he was there again on this cruise. It was like meeting old family again.... he is definitely one of the reasons we keep sailing NCL.

We only saw two shows, the hypnotist and the magician which both were fabulous. There was another adult hypnotist show at 10:30 in the Spinaker Lounge that is not to be missed. My 20 yr old son was one of her victims lol.

Improvement needed: We have sailed NCL several times and really look forward to the White Hot Party. This time on the Jewel was very disappointing. Just even the set up of the Spinaker for the party. Last cruises there was flashing cups, several lit up bars with ice carvings on them, DJ playing from the start. This one had a small table lit up on the side entrance... you could not see it once you were in the Spinaker. The party started at 10:30 and we went in the Spinaker at 10:30 and there was no one there to greet you...angel wings etc. They eventually made it to the greet area but it had to be 15 minutes later. No flashing cups, No DJ kicking the party off. They started off with a band then switched to a DJ. Also on other cruises, I have seen the staff at the Spinaker mingle more with the passengers and join in conversations with them but this one seemed that they had there one little cliques and kept to themselves more.

Other then that, I really have no complaints. The waiter staff and bar service people are great. Applauses go out to Emma and Melvin in the Spinaker, Noel in the Casino. They made you feel at home.

All in all a great cruise.

Enjoyed your review. I went last October and had a great time. However, I had my 5yr. old gd and didn't get a chance to see any of the shows. Also, I agree with Kevincruising, your kids will have a great time in the children's club and with the Nick crew.
