Hong Kong o/night and Singapore day room - advice please

Evening folks. A bit of advice pls.

We've sailed with azamara before but have always made our own pre and post hotel arrangements. In march 2014 we have been allocated an overnight in HK and on disembark, the use of a day room in Singapore. No details from azamara yet.

Anyone suggest which hotel/hotels azamara typically use ? We're hooking up again with friends from the US on this cruise and they may want to stay in the same hotel. Also, if you've ever had use of a day room was it exclusive to you or shared, and again any suggestions on potential hotels?

Many thanks.

Hello David

In 2011 we booked our arrangements through Azamara, although we did the reverse arrival/departure. We flew into Singapore and Azamara had booked us into the Conrad Hilton for our overnight and for our departure the day room in Hong Kong was at an airport hotel connected to the airport by an air bridge and the room was for our sole use. We did upgrade our transfer to a tour and airport drop off in order to spend less time at the airport and see more of Hong Kong but still had use of the day room when we arrived at the airport. We could rest and freshen up in the room before our midnight flight. We did not have to leave the hotel until 8.00pm

There is an hotel next to the HK airport, Regal. But the Express Train into town, either Kowloon or HK is extremely efficient, on time and fast. Unless you have a large group, it's also cheaper than a taxi.

So if you decide to explore the HK sights, don't feel obligated to stay at the Regal Hotel.

Similarly, Singapore is a very small city, taxi is plentiful and traffic is not too bad [most of the time]. But Changi Airport is world famous and one can spend 3-4 hours exploring the sights in the airport.

Please explain a little-did you do ChoiceAir getting in a day early, or did you plan an extra day. We fly into Hong Kong in Feb, right now ChoiceAir shows getting in the morning of the cruise, (AA & Cathay Pacific) or if you put in a day earlier it shows UA arriving the night before the cruise. I guess the term "allocated" is what has me confused. A hotel included in the air would be nice.

Thank you DTSM and Hilary for your replies.

Silkismom - as part of the april promo our flights are FOC and we have a one night stay on arrival in HK and day room on disembark included. We are flying in and out of the UK, not the US.
