Which side of he ship on Marina,Amsterdam to Barcelona

I guess this might be a bit of a dumb question, but any tips on which side of the ship to have a cabin for max views from the room? We are on the Marina in Sep 2014 from Amsterdam to Barcelona.

IMO best views are from aft!

Side makes no difference as you are almost always too far from land to have anything but a sea view and there is no way to know which side ports will be on. Enjoy your cruise.

The only time you would even think about this is entering or leaving port. Between ports, you will be too far at sea to really be able to see a thing. It would be hard to determine which side is better going in or out, as the times may not be conducive to watching at all. What you could see on the way in, you can see on the way out on the other side.

 

I worried a bit about this on an Alaskan trip and everyone told me I was on the wrong side. Trust me, it made little to no difference. You are on deck, in a restaurant with windows, etc., etc., etc., enough to pretty much make any difference rather moot. And as I noted above, you are going out the same way you go into port, so each side gets each view.

I would choose the port side on the chance that you will catch some coastline views, more interesting than endless water. I certainly would enjoy the port side while passing through the Straits of Gilbraltar.
