Princess...Juneau Capital City Highlights

Actually, posting on the Princess board would probably only result in people telling you to post here.

What would be helpful is if you post the tour description, not just the name. Often, similar tours are offered by other cruise lines and independent vendors. Someone might have experience with a similar tour and might be able to offer insight. Knowing what the tour involves might also help us to know what type of tours the OP is considering so we might offer alternative choices.

From the name of this tour, it sounds like a narrated bus ride around town, which for me would be a complete waste of time and money when you could be doing so many better things in Juneau or touring town on your own.

It matters What this tour is? Most are not going to look it up.

Most times these bus tours are some of the most costly with going independent up to 50% savings.

In Juneau MGT is an excellent long time vendor, to also maybe consider comparing tours with.

It's this tour:

will visit:

Mendenhall Glacier

Beer Tasting

Shrine of St. Therese

Ernest Gruening State Historical Site

You will see:

Alaska State Capitol

Governor's House

Excursion Length:

Approx. 4 hours

Tour Overview

This is a truly personal and informative way to see the sights, starting when you meet your local guide and take your seat aboard a spacious, modern minibus. Embark on a journey off the beaten path past the State Capitol Building, Russian Orthodox Church and Governor's House. Navigating these charming streets, you will observe Alaskan life up close before moving on to view and photograph Juneau's most popular attraction, the magnificent Mendenhall Glacier. Enjoy panoramic views of this breathtaking, natural phenomenon and walk one of the short, nature trails.

Then it's time to journey north through the once-thriving Auke Indian village site, to the Shrine of St. Therese. Here you will be able to explore the historic stone chapel and serene waterfront grounds.

Continue further "out the road" to enjoy a scenic and secluded piece of Alaska history at the Ernest Gruening State Historical Site. Take in the spectacular Chilkat mountain range while enjoying a light snack and beach walk at the former Territorial Governor's rustic cabin.

On your return to town, your final stop of the day will be the award-winning Alaskan Brewing Company, to sample some of their most delicious beers.

30 min at each stop - glacier, brewery & shrine

Depending on the cost, this may be a good tour for some. An easy alternative could also be a rental car, as NONE of these have any admission fees etc. Could also add stops of interest.

The 30 minute stop at Mendenhall, is very short, and needs a consideration, if right for the person.

Also many of these "attractions' are drive bys, again, determine, if that is enough.
