wmowan8485 Posted May 10, 2013 #7 Share Posted May 10, 2013 Nice try carnival!! I guess with all of this bad PR ships are not sailing at capacity... However, ccl has to make it worthwhile for someone to come out of pocket to upgrade.

JimAOk1945 Posted May 11, 2013 #9 Share Posted May 11, 2013 We have sailed on Carnival four times. We had an interesting experience with the Upsell Fairy in 2011. We had booked a Grand Suite with an extended balcony on the Carnival Ecstasy. We got a call offering us an upsell to the Penthouse Suite (also called the Owner's Suite) when the Ecstasy still sailed out of Galveston, TX. There are only two of these gigantic suites on the ship. We had been on the Ecstasy before and never realized they were there even though you can see the windows when you are at the pool. The cabin measures 916 sq ft and the balcony 110 sq ft. Since it was our anniversary, I said yes. :D That was the one and only time I accepted an upsell! My wife took pictures and posted them on her personal website. You can see them at the link below. http://nancysoasis.com/OS/OS.html
