i've been following pam's cruise on the diamond princess from beijing to whittier alaska and it's been quite a cruise with interesting ports in china, south korea and japan. she's at sea now and i think there are quite a few seas days now. i love sea days and wish i could do a cruise like this.

hope you're enjoying yourself, pam.

cheers

i agree with you. i was thinking how great a "live from" would be too, but i'd rather know pam was having such a good cruise, she doesn't have time for it. she's such a good cruiser. i bet she knows everyone's life story on the ship by now!

cheers

So many people enjoy your "live from" postings and hope you continue. Looking forward to doing some of the wonderful cruises you and your husband have been on. However, we will have to wait until my husband retires from teaching.

Looks like she's smarter than me. ;)

I would never say that Pam is smarter than my Cugina! :p

Sometimes it's good for me to cut the communication cord but no one cares to hear from me. However if you were to not do a 'LIVE from' (particularly from the Royal) many would be very disappointed. :(

It'll be good to read about your Royal Med cruise during our pre-cruise Tuscany visit just before joining you & Mike on the Royal's TA. :D

Even if I wanted to "cut the cord" doing LIVES, I think I'd feel guilty. Whatever would I do aboard a ship? I might even have to eat.

Hi all, not pam, but we are here on the Diamond also. I did a couple of tours with Pam in Japan, she is well and enjoying her cruise.

Internet has been intermittent in Japan. We are on the second of eight sea days between Japan and Alaska, have had perfect weather till now, it is raining and the seas are up.

The Diamond is beautiful, staff fabulous, i love this ship, plenty of room inside in this weather, lots of space.

Quite a few got off in Tokyo, I believe Russians, so there are a few spare cabins, but all will change in Whittier....we are on until Vancouver.

This is a great itinerary, i will do review when we return.

Chez;

If you have not yet done so, try the Osse Bucco. It was incredibly tender and good last year, when we did essentially this trip. By now it must be ......... err, well, ok, they have probably put a different piece in by now. :)

What a great trip!

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks for the kind thoughts. I flew home yesterday from Anchorage where we spent the night post-cruise.

I rarely do a "live from," mostly because I'm really boring and have little to say. :) I rarely go to the nighttime entertainment, never turn on the TV, have seen all the movies pre-cruise, don't do trivia, casino, or slot pulls, and in particular on this cruise, the daytime activities and entertainment were same old, same old without anything that appealed to me. Very uninspired.

Yes, I'll be writing a review or if someone gets there first, tag along. It was great meeting Cheryl and Andy, and other CC friends. :)

I am the same way Pam but I have been known to visit the Casino on occasion. I was planning on doing a live thread on my CB TA but somebody started a thread 3 days before the cruise started so I lost interest. Also, I need to save all my free internet for work. :)
