Cruising with Infants

Does anyone know a low cost option for cruising with infants in Australian waters - i have tried RCL but they charge about 80% of the adultfare for a nine month old

 

any tips much appreciated

a nine month old child is unable to cruise with princess or p&o but not sure about the other cruise lines sailing out of Sydney

P&O and Princess won't accommodate children until they are older than 12 months. The fare is much less than 80%. On a family cruise we booked late last year the adult fares were $1165 (twin, outside) and the child's fare was $225.
