I Luv Crusin Posted August 12, 2013 #451 Share Posted August 12, 2013 Thank you so much for your review. My DD and I cruised the Liberty out of Rome in 2006 for 12 days. It's a very tiring itinerary with only 2 sea days but fortunately or unfortunately we got an extra sea day because we couldn't dock in Florence. We missed Pisa but used the day to pack because we were off the ship the next morning at 6am to get to the Vatican to see the Pope. I'm sorry you couldn't spend at least one day in Barcelona. It was a pretty interesting port but something you can do the next time! My burning question is.....What sailing are you on 2014 on the Liberty? My DH and I are sailing 3/1. We are celebrating 31 years of wedded bliss in September.

disneykins Posted August 13, 2013 #454 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Thanks!!! Yes, we used all private excursion groups this go around and they were all worth it; except the time we got kidnapped in Turkey! I will say without a doubt that Rome In (a) Limo was simply the best!!! Have a great SUNSHINE cruise!!! What was the name of the company in Izmir? Want to make sure we avoid them. Thanks, Tony

Thanks, Tony I believe it was the Ephesus Shuttle (.com) that offers a few tours, the one we chose was: Tour 3: Private Ephesus - Artemission Temple - The House of Virgin Mary Tour + Terrace Houses Edited August 14, 2013 by ShotoJuku

CHOPPERTESTER Posted August 24, 2013 #462 Share Posted August 24, 2013 Thanx Brian for the very professional review. It brought back many memories of Venice for us. We stayed at the Olimpia as well. We are heading out 1 Sept on the Legend and were wondering if you can confirm that the self-laundry rooms washers & dryers take the s&s cards instead of coins, or do they take both? Thanx in advance Scott

Mimi19510 Posted August 24, 2013 #464 Share Posted August 24, 2013 Loved your review! My husband and are celebrating 45 years of bliss in Nov on Mediterranian cruise. So have been reading everything with much interest! We are also doing private tours. May I ask how you handled the Euros. Did you get them before you left US or get them from ATM's there as so many suggest? Thanks in advance.

As for Euro's I purchased them before sailng from my bank taking A LOT just so I would have extra just in case. I ended up exchanging them back to the bank when we returned. Have a great cruise! Rare deladane Posted August 27, 2013 #475 Share Posted August 27, 2013 I just thought of another random question that I was hoping you (or anyone else to sail out of Venice with an overnight that first night) could answer... Did they do the scheduled fixed seating in the MDR on the first night of the cruise, or is it open seating? Since the ship is docked overnight, our plan is to board as early as possible, and then spend the day walking around Venice. I doubt we will be back in time for our 6pm dinner time. When I sailed out of San Juan, PR on the Victory in December, we had a 10pm sail away, so they let us have open seating in the MDR in case people weren't on board in time for their 6pm early dining time. We could go to the MDR anytime between 6 and 9pm, and were randomly seated at whatever table was open. Just wondering if they do something similar on the Venice sailings? :) I know you went out to dinner in Venice that night, but I'm hoping you either know the answer, or can look at your FunTimes to see what they have listed. Thanks!! Your review was very helpful for planning my upcoming Sunshine cruise :)
