I am sailing Princess and part of the tours goes to these places...which one is better?

One tour goes to Mend Glacier/salmon hatch (been there many times) and Glacier Gardens..other goes to:

Mend Glacier/Musueum and Rainforest Garden

Both 4 hour tours

Good question. I don't really want to go to the salmon hatchery, but Glacier Gardens look like they will be beautiful, so I selected that one. I looked for another tour to the Gardens that didn't include the hatchery but couldn't find one :(

Here's an apparently well-informed answer from "JuneauCabbie" on tr*p adv*s*r:

"Yes, they are two different places, and really are quite different.

Glacier Gardens is very commercial and has a lot of large groups. The tours are on stretched golf carts. The carts go up a steep hill to a viewpoint across the Juneau Airport and the Mendenhall Wetlands.

Rainforest Garden is a scientifically oriented botanical garden with a trail through the woods (the owner just told me that the gravel surface is OK for electric scooters but not always great with conventional wheelchairs). They book exclusively with Princess and some of the small ship cruise lines.

Rainforest Garden is so hidden away that I didn't know it was there until the owner told me where it's located. They have no signs and the entrance is very inobtrusive."
