Lunch the first day on the Riviera

Next week we leave for our cruise, second time on the Riviera. We are trying to remember lunch the day we get on the ship.

 

Waves is closed if I remember correctly. Is the grill open in the Terrace? I remember those delicious shrimp but I think that was at dinner. Maybe I'll try a lobster taail this time!

 

We are really looking forward to the desserts...they were so good!

On Marina & the R ships I am pretty sure Waves was open along with the Terrace

It has been a couple of yrs since our last cruise so I could be wrong

Quite right, Lyn, Waves is typically open for that first luncheon, but the Grille in the Terrace restaurant isn't.

 

On the upside, they usually have a Soup Bar and a large Dessert Station where the Grill is, as the central table of the Buffet holds Sushi and Salads at that time of day.

We usually do not board until later in the afternoon & then I am ready for a tea/coffee & a sweet treat ;)

You are right Lyn, We were on the Riviera this January and Waves plus the Terrace serves lunch. As far as I recall the grill in the Terrace was also opened. I always start my cruise with a selection from the grill and pasta bar.

We had our first lunch in the Terrace cafe, sat outside in the back. Was very nice. As I remember it was like any other day with the grill going full blast.

However, I do not remember the grill serving jumbo shrimp and lobster tails for lunch. If anything, they had shrimp and lobster salad.

Then again, my memory is not what it used to be :)

We did a B2B April 21 through April 28 through May 5. Terrace was open along with the grill on 4/21 and 4/28 for lunch after boarding. Don't know about Waves since we ate in Terrace.

The grill onthe Terrace is open for lunch on embarkation day, but it is primarily used for custom burgers and other sandwiches, and for pasta, I believe. At breakfast the gill is used as the omelette and custome eggs station. The lobster, etc. is for dinner.
