Linda&Vern Posted June 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2013 We're booked on a two week Southern Caribbean itinerary on Maasdam in December. Anyone care to share their experiences with stateroom A-049? Thanks . . . and happy cruising to all! We were there in 2005. Loved the location because of the ease of getting to the Seaview pool area. The cabin was a very functional space for 2 people. Again, the location was the frosting on the cake for us.
Krazy Kruizers Posted June 4, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2013 You are right under the Lido Restaurant -- carpeted -- no noise. There is an overhang as well from the restaurant. Here are some pictures of what your cabin will look like from Joanie's sticky -- they are from the Ryndam -- sister ship of the Maasdam (055): http://abqreunion2008.com/Ryndam/Deck-10.html
George C Posted June 4, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 4, 2013 We were in A-060 last month we liked the location real close to sea view pool, nice cabin I thought bathroom was a little small for a "Suite", food in MDR was great and so was service
fudbuster Posted June 4, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 4, 2013 Just disembarked last Saturday. We were in 047 - the cabin right next door. Last Vista "suite" before the row of Neptunes (the "real" suites). We really liked our cabin. It felt quite roomy, and we found the Navigation Deck to be extremely convenient. Heard nary a peep from the Lido, and the overhang of the verandah turned out to be a plus in bad weather. To my mind, there was no downside to it. The Maasdam is a fine ship; aged a bit, yes; but absolutely charming and extremely well cared for.
