cunardaddict Posted June 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2013 All aboard was early at 4pm to leave for Hamburg. No afternoon tea as service ceased for security drill. Then we left Southampton during low tide. Just after the second 90 degree turn in the solent engines failed and we "sailed" without any electricity for app 15 minutes. Then a basic system could be restarted. The Commodore anounced the usual not-to-worry-news and ee crawled on into the channel at dinnrr time without any elevator working. We were lucky to dine in the QG... Dinner was nothing worth to remember. The daily programme states that bathing clothes are optional ONLY in the steam bath, but not in other areas. This id a clear order to those who are brought up in UK but a german may understand this as beeing forced to run around stark naked. Well, it's rather cold and cloudy now passing the Schelde and morning tea wasn't hot either. Tommorrow we will load 1600 Germans. The ship is prepared.
