Ochos Rios Port

We are going to Ochos Rios in August, we were going to do the bobsled but DH cannot handle the sky ride to the top of Mystic Mountain. As such, we have decided to just chill out in the port. Are there restaurants? Is is safe to just chill around in the port area? I have heard things about Jamaica and to be honest, the whole port makes me nervous. Any heads up would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can take a short shuttle into town or walk it. I really don't care for it. I would just enjoy the ship or just spend a short time there.

I read your post fully so don't go to Lobster Dave's, the walk to his shack might scare you.

The area around the dock will have a number of undercover Narcotic Detective on duty backed up by uniform cops, so if you stay on the beaten track you will be safe.
