Monkeys On Board Posted June 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2013 If you had to pick between the Empress deck or the Upper deck for an AFT balcony room, which would you pick and why? THANKS!!
KenMo Posted June 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2013 Without knowing which ship.... I'd always pick one sandwiched between two cabin decks.

T. Advisor King Posted June 15, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2013 Everything else being equal (esp price and what is above/below) I'll pick the higher deck for the slightly better view.
joepeka Posted June 15, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2013 As Mona said, it may depend on the ship and I think the Upper deck is usually the one right above the MDR on most ships. I would go for Empress (deck 7 usually) as it has cabins above and below and therefore should be more quiet. The only exception that I've heard people mention are the aft-wrap balconies (Vista suites) on the Spirit class - the deck 4 cabins seem to be preferred over those higher up. I did notice you've booked Sunshine for next year and if that's the ship you're asking about, the Upper deck is right above the MDR.
bmckim Posted June 15, 2013 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2013 On the sunshine there are rooms on 5-8 on the aft, so 6 or 7 would probably be best. We booked on 6 because 7 was more when we booked it. I don't think you will notice much.
