Embarkation-which port?

Looking at doing Baltic region next year, we have no experience with Europe. Curious as to which would logistically be the easiest from Atlanta...Amsterdam, Copenhagen or Warnemunde. TIA for any input. :)

I prefer Copenhagen,then Amsterdam for embarkation.Since I like BOTH cities and always stay a day or 2 ahead of time.Lots to see and most speak some English.:)

For us Amsterman is better ... Copenhagan is a 2 nd choice

I prefer non stop flights

 

KLM have some good prices depends on when you are going watch for the seat sales

Is Dover an option?

 

The reason why I ask is flying to London will be cheaper (hopefully) than flying to some of the other ports. London will be easier to book a cheaper hotel and there are just so many other things to do in and around London. Dover is a 2 hour bus ride away, but that is no big deal.

 

Just trying to present another option. If you have never been to Europe, London is the place to start.

Look for Delta (code share KLM) non-stops from ATL to Amsterdam. Getting to A'dam from the airport to the city by train is easy easy easy. Fun city. Easy to navigate. Can walk to the port or take a tram from central train station if you wish.

Amsterdam (Schipol) is a major international flight hub, in this respect Copenhagen is a poor second & Warnemunde is a non-starter.

 

A good choice of Baltic cruises from the UK, predominantly Harwich, Dover & Southampton (all described by cruise lines as "London" :rolleyes:), but cruises are a little longer at around 12 to 14 days.

Not sure about Dover...the itineraries we're looking at depart from the three aforementioned ports. We're looking at 11/12 day Baltic itineraries and don't recall seeing one out of Dover. Any insight is appreciated.
