fll airport car rental and shuttle advice ?

We would like some advice on anyones recent car rental and port shuttle experiences.

 

We have a cruise booked for December and are flying in the day before. We know the area pretty well and would like to go to some familiar places. We also fly back home on a later flight and figure it would be nice to rent a car again after getting off of the ship to go to the beach. It gives us a place to put our luggage as well. We were hoping for a shuttle service as well if possible from the rental company.

Alamo and National have a shuttle from Fort Lauderdale airport to/from port.

 

Avis has a shuttle from Hyatt Regency Pier 66 hotel from the hotel to port.

 

I would call to confirm about their shuttle with the car rental agency as things always change.

 

The other car rental agencies do not have shuttles. Taxi from airport to/from port is under $20 each way, if you use the other rental agencies.
