I am so excited to have just booked our first cruise in 4 years, first cruise since we had our 2 children and first cruise on Carnival in 10 years!!!! I don't even care that we will "only" be sailing in a big circle!!

Anyone else going on this trip? Can anyone tell me exactly where in NY the ship leaves from? I've only ever sailed out of Bayonne when I've sailed from up here.

Thanks!!! So excited!!!!!!!!

The Glory sails from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal at 12th Ave and 52nd street - although it spans a number of blocks. It's right next to the Intrepid Museum.

Have a great cruise. NY sail away is awesome (except if it's pouring down rain!)

Thanks! While it wasn't pouring rain, I sailed out of Bayone in Sept 2009 and it was a dismal rainy day and it was STILL awesome! Sailing out under the bridge was amazing!

When you sail out of Manhattan, you get the NY Skyline complete with the Empire State Building and the new Freedom Tower, then you sail right by the Statue of Liberty!

OP, did you check the roll call for our cruise? We'll be on board with you for that one. Hope you enjoy it, a CTN is a different type of cruise.

No I didn't!

I've been on a few CTN but on the NCL. You leave out of the westside highway, across from Jersey. Pretty much just party all night and don't even bother going to sleep. do that when you get home. Hehehehe. The good thing is the 1 litre per adult rule doesn't apply at the duty free. Good time to buy high end and "travel" only exclusive liquors. But make sure with the shop before you buy. I think the parking is around $30 a night but it is worth is since the parking lot is only an elevator ride up. It's probably going to be CRAZY !!!! Disembakation is reallly quick since most people bring small carry on. I don't remember going through customs. If there are specialty restaurants you want to try, book it once you get on board because it gets filled up really quick. Casinos are probably gonna be max to capacity. Make sure you hang out at the top deck during the sailway especially when passing under the Verrazano bridge, sooo close that you can see gum stuck under the bridge (kidding). Don't forget to bring you bathing suit especially if it is hot and sunny that day. Have fun !!!!
