Details on the NEW 2016 ship!

I'm fairly certain the new Carnival ship will look nothing like this Fincantieri concept model. Carnival is not exactly known for being innovative, and this concept would be a giant leap from their typical conservative approach.

I also think it will not look like it. However, the concepts will be similar (distributing heavier things to lower decks, etc)

There has been so many rumours around this ship design.. oh it will be the Pinnacle Class, oh it will be the Dream class. oh it will be this or that.. save yourselves the hassle and do what we are doing wait to hear the official word from John Heald.. or one of the other beards from Carnival..

I am sure whatever it is .. the ship will be amazing!!

"I heard something that may or may not be true. And I heard it from a reliable source. What do you think?"

You seriously need to ask that??? I can't stop laughing. Someone's really yanking your chain.

Re the ship: I'll pass on that too. From the way all these rumours are describing it at least.

Rumors or not, I'll pass, also. Breeze was plenty big enough for me. We had a nightmare of a time debarking in Jamaica with that many passengers! And the lines to get back on at all ports were pretty bad, also.

Well, you may be the one laughing now, which you are allowed to do, but just wait until most of this information turns out to be true. My source has been correct in the past (most recently with ship re positioning) and he/she/it will be most likely correct again. When this happens, I will be the one laughing.

Sorry but what happen to all those "new" ports and itineraries that your source confirmed?

I think it all depends the time you go. We went in an off month (January) and we never encountered any lines whatsoever.

I've only been on the Dream and I am going again on the Dream next week. But this doesn't sound like an improvement. They will be adding pool space, but taking away Atrium to add more cabins. So more people, no more space. They will add more paid restaurants, which would mean less public space. One thing I didn't like about the Dream was the indoor spaces all felt confined. Taking away the one large place isn't the best bet, imo.

I agree with you. I especially don't like that they are adding so many more passengers, but not more space. Plus removing the atrium I feel may make the indoor spaces feel even more confined.

In the scheme of thing with everything going on in the world, it is hard to believe that you entire self esteem is wrapped up in trying to be the first one to know about a ship in 2016 which will be common knowledge to everyone very shortly. Then what will you do? It is beyond comprehension that this will be your joy and the only thing in your life worth laughing at.

I don't think anyone is laughing, your priorities and enjoyment of such matters is actually very sad.

The atrium on dream class is already only 3 decks high. Sounds like the would only be removing the glass elevators and gyre shaft they are in with eve sky light.

For those of you who have not heard yet, there has been some information unofficially released on Carnival's new 2016 ship. Here we go...

1. There will be no large Atrium - only 3 decks stopping at deck 5:

2. Deck 4 will have the Casino from the existing conference room to the Blush Dining Room as exists on Breeze;

3. Ship will be approximately 21 feet longer at bow and 30 feet at aft;

4. It will be the same width as the Dream Class;

5. There will be 3 pools (with a 1/2 in 1/2 out pool where the current Limelight Lounge is on the Breeze);

6. More cabins with a capacity of 5,100 persons (an increase of 400 persons from existing Breeze);

7. Cabins will be in existing empty space above deck 5 of Breeze Atrium;

8. Deck 5 will have a number of "specialty" restaurants (paid) with a variety of themes;

9. There will be a "Crew Serenity" area at bow of ship with same style chairs, hammocks etc. (no spa) like the existing Serenity areas on board Carnival ships;

10. It will be around 5,000 tons heavier than existing Dream Class (130,000) and will most likely be called Carnival Sunrise, Carnival Vista, or Carnival Splash, most likely Sunrise!

All of these are rumors that I have heard. Much of this will probably be true (reliable source) but some of it may not be true.

Your thoughts?

So this new ship is going to have a space ratio of 26.47? No thanks.

Without making this another argument, I would just like to say that I am a very happy and positive person. I don't appreciate comments on My thread like...

"I heard something that may or may not be true. And I heard it from a reliable source. What do you think?"

Why comment if one is going to be negative? I am just stating the facts that I have received. Thank you and have a great day.

Technically, they are not facts. They are still considered rumors, reliable source or not.

Ummm, perhaps thats the point...you're not stating facts at all.

Here on your thread :rolleyes:

Personally I prefer the smaller ships even though they probably will be able to give better deals with bigger ones. I always hate embarkation day and with twice as many people getting off going thru customs and fighting for taxi cabs I see long lines and short tempers. But from a business point of view I guess it makes sense.

I am giving you the "word" that I have received from a reliable source. That is a fact and most of these facts will turn out to be true indeed. End of story

I never felt the dream crowded at all. I like the way this ship sounds (if its true)...I really like the name, Carnival vista

I agree. Breeze never felt crowded either. I think the name will be Sunrise or Splash, probably Splash (Splash Class). Vista would be a neat name though. Not a fan of Sunrise
