Tarpeian Rock Posted July 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2013 Does O ever have any clergy on board on a predictable basis, or does that tend to be limited to Christmas / Easter / Jewish holidays (if that)?
Rare LHT28 Posted July 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2013 In our experience (none on any special holidays) the CD has sometimes held a a non denominational service David Shermat did do the Friday night service for those of the Jewish faith sometime the passengers did their own service I do not think they had a priest or minister onboard like some other lines
vaitape Posted July 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2013 Several years ago on our Capetown to Singapore cruise, Leslie Jon and Barbara did an amazing Christmas Eve service. Great liturgy, great music and a wonderful experience.
dorisis Posted July 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2013 On the cruises we have taken it has always been the CD doing services.
Rare Caroldoll Posted July 10, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2013 I am not sure if this is hit or miss. Our Parish priest did a cruise on the Regatta last October. I am assuming they do.
doubledobles Posted July 10, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 10, 2013 I have never found there to be clergy on board. My husband, who attends church every morning at home, usually goes to church in the towns we stop in on Sundays. I sometimes attend the Jewish services led by the CD or one of the passengers on board.
OzAbroad Posted July 10, 2013 #7 Share Posted July 10, 2013 In my experience nothing planned but on our most recent cruise a number of episcopalian ministers were on board and officiated at a Christmas service. On other occasions its been the CD providing a multifaith service.
darleen1421 Posted July 16, 2013 #8 Share Posted July 16, 2013 On our ten day Alaska cruise the cruise director David led a non-denominational service on Sunday evening. Only about 25 attended. We had checked ahead to the Catholic Church in Hoonah where we were on Sunday and the priest was going to be on another island at a mission that day. We were happy to attend the onboard service.
