fischymom Posted July 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2013 I have been trying to get my sister to come on a cruise with me for a couple of years but do to being a newly wed she was unable to get away to do this with me. Well finally I convinced her how great of a time we will have doing a sisters retreat together, I am looking for somewhere between 5 to 7 days warm weather cruises. I am thinking right now it maybe October of 2014 but that is not set for sure yet.I want a balance of cruising and shore days...drinks but not bar cruising....both of us are active....I have been on Rhapsody, Freedom and Explorer and loved them all. Throw me some suggestions as to where you might start her off on the cruising habit, LOL. No seriously I am not sure what cruises to look at for a nice balance of relax and adventure. I am in Nebraska and she is in Wyoming so other than possibly driving to Galveston it is going to include us flying to port so we are looking continental US. Clarea Posted July 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2013 Navigator will be in Galveston doing 7 day cruises at that time. Freedom, Oasis, and Allure will be in Florida also doing 7 day cruises. If you can wait a few weeks, then Liberty will be back in Florida doing 4/5 day cruises.
AFsouth Posted July 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2013 For a "balance", I think Allure or Oasis would be perfect! Also, what a great inaugural cruise for Sis.:)
Trekker954 Posted July 11, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2013 I would wait till the Liberty is back in Port Everglades. Not everyone likes cruising and often due because their first cruise was a 7 nighter and they become anxious. Plus as a newly wed; if she hasn't been away from hubby at all, she may get really home sick. Yeah, do a Thur - Monday Liberty cruise.
LookingForward2 Posted July 11, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2013 I would look at a couple of the shorter (4 or 6 night) cruises out of Galveston on Navigator.
z44212 Posted July 11, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2013 Forget balance. Take her on an Oasis class ship and ruin her for life. That's what I'm doing to my kids.
fischymom Posted July 11, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted July 11, 2013 Well thank yo to everyone I think we have settled on a 3 night cruise on the Enchantment . Shorter than we originally were thinking but time wise it fit so well with what we were looking at that we decided to go with it.
