Wheelchairs at NYC Pier?

Are there wheelchairs available to get guests from the pier to the ship. We are sailing 8/5 on the Splendor.

We called guest services beforehand and they had one waiting for us. They wheeled DW's grandmother through all the lines, and to our stateroom.

All those sailing with the wheelchair passenger are processed at the same time and personally escorted onto the ship. Completely separate line for those with disabilities. Makes for a very easy checkin.

yes they are! just ask as you enter the door.. also you can can call Carnival and they will assist espcially if they know in advance. Have a great cruise I'll be going on when you are coming off

And makes for some nasty looks from the line dwellers. Practiced giving it right back to them.

Never have I seen more 'fluffy' people on scooters and wheelchairs

than our Glory cruise ex-Manhattan, October 2011.

 

Going again in 5 wks. time -and fully expect to see the same again. ;)
