chrissie865 Posted August 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Is there a cinema on AOS? Is this likely to show new films and perhaps something for the children? We are going on 18th August and just wondering if this is something that would be good for the children. Many thanks

Many thanks What they show in the Cinema-they also show on your TV.:( One thing that could be improved on Royal is this. Newer movies in the Cinema and maybe some pop-corn!!:)

relaxatsea Posted August 9, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 9, 2013 We were on the AOS sailing 5/31/13 on the Iceland/Norway cruise. We saw five movies during our cruise. They are shown either in the Screening Room on Deck 2 across from the Conference Center, and/or in Studio B (the ice rink). We saw Skyfall, the Young Victoria, Sherlock Holmes, and something else with Bruce Willis in the Screening Room and we saw Argo in Studio B. Since our weather was mostly cold and rainy, we were very happy to have this fun thing to do inside. Since the Screening Room is quite small, my best advice is to get there early to get a good seat (or any seat!).
Queen of Oakville Posted August 9, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 9, 2013 My kids are hoping to see some of the new DreamWorks movies on board. On our last cruise we got to preview Kung Fu Panda (we booked a Kung Fu panda promotion). I like on Disney cruises, that you can almost always expect to preview a new movie on board. Last cruise we previewed the Great and Powerful Oz before its world release. Royal has the obvious partnership with DreamWorks - but it would be nice if they had other studio partnerships where new movies could be previewed. {for those that aint so much into kiddy movies}
sotong Posted August 9, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 9, 2013 The screening room down on deck 2 has about 50 seats and on the 21 July sailing showed the last Twilight, Skyfall, Lincoln, Soul Surfer, Pitch Perfect, Young Victoria and a few others ( not kids films though). Argo was also shown on a screen in the main theatre on one day with 2 or 3 showings, e.g 4, 7 and 10 o clock, the screening room showed the films at similar times but often 1 and 10am too. These films plus others are also shown on the cabin TV, real mixture inc old films like singing in the rain and About a Boy. There are 2 kids channels in the room, Cartoon Network and an RCI one which shows the Fisher little people cartoons the other poster mentioned. The kids club also had a movie night at about 8 more than once although not sure what was shown. Have a good holiday. Gillian.
