chrissie865 Posted August 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Can anyone give me more information or point me in the right direction to find out more about the pools onboard the ship. We have a 4, 7 and 8 yr old and wondered if there is a specific pool area for them to use. Are there some pools that are adult only? Are the pools likely to be heated at all. Last time they had the pleasure of H2O on the IOS so I want to prepare them for this cruise so they know what to expect and aren't disappointed when they realise there is no H2O. We are cruising on the 18th August. Many thanks in advance for any info.
Meggysmum Posted August 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2013 There is an adults only pool. The main pool area is in the middle with 2 pools. I don't think the pools were heated, it was so hot when we were on AOS the other week that I liked them cold! At the back of the ship there is a small kids pool area with a slide from the next deck up. This is behind Adventure Ocean and is very shady. It is only for children and their families. sotong Posted August 9, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2013 One other thing to note is that they are salt water not chlorinated, not an issue for me but my 10 year old took a little bit if time to get use to it. moshek Posted August 9, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Another point to note is that the pools in the main area will be deep for your children, if I remember rightly they are about 4-5ft deep.
Aquahound Posted August 9, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Chrissie - the pool set up is exactly like IOS, only without the H2O Zone and the jacuzzis aren't cantilevered.
cb at sea Posted August 10, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 10, 2013 Solar heat only! The Solarium is for 16 years and up.
WhoKnowsWhere Posted August 9, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 9, 2014 The children and I didn't like the salt water, my son only went in once or twice as it it made his eyes sore. We also found the main pools very crowded and they were the only ones the whole family could go in together.
