Cheers drink program...... ??

believe what you want. I paid for 15 drinks and 15 were ordered. They will only raise it until the market no longer supports the price. I can always bring my own stash on board. wink wink.

No, you paid for the number of drinks YOU could drink, up to but not over 15.

Depends on how much you drink Vs. the amount you will pay for the program. Seems to me that a person who is trying to reach a 15 drink per day limit will be wasted the entire cruise. I'm not a prude, but that does not seem like fun to me. But it is your vacation, so Cheers!!

Hmmm... I'm sure there are a lot of people -me included - throughout the entire day, from a morning Bloody Mary or 2, until a late night cocktail, that can drink 15 drinks and not be "wasted"!

Now if your up late and in bed by 8 then maybe not! But that doesn't seem like fun to me! So to each their own!

The other thing I thought was interesting because I would be borderline at best is that the "soda" program is included so that would be $6 I wouldn't be spending on a soda card for the cruise for myself and hubby.

Does anyone know if say a double barcardi and soda would fall beneath the $10? so be included? This is what I forsee my hubby wanting to order.

No arguments here, but seems like the first cruise I was on and observing the endless drinking going on, looked like armature hour to me.

Now the person who knows how to handle their alcohol consumption throughout the day and night, might not run into the a problem compared to the "I just turned 21 and will get wasted." Those are the armatures to look out for.

I don't post on here a whole lot, but am really interested in this subject. My DH and I do a lot of all inclusives by ourselves. The majority of our 'family' trips, however, have been with our children--this year being 21 yrs and 18 yrs (in their own room). So, DH and I will likely get the cheers program, I think, however, am still debating, and then of course, debating about our son. My personal thought is, the nature of the Cheers program is somewhat similar to that of an all inclusive resort; some people you make money from, others you don't. My son doesn't drink very much (at least in front of us!! :D). My husband and I may have the equivalent of 10 per day, each, including wine with dinner, etc. So, carnival is making 10 drinks per day profit between the two of us. I'm thinking that perhaps just getting the 'odd' beer for our son on our plan wouldn't be THAT bad, would it???

Yes, it is worth it. Many people do not realize how much you drink. Between soft drinks and a drink before dinner, during dinner, after dinner liquored coffee, some drinks at a show and casino. It all adds up, plus you can try out some new cocktails and if you do not like them then no big deal.

I am still trying to figure out if it's really worth it. Not sure if we'll drink over $100 a day in order to break even.

We booked the adult beverage package on Celebrity which is THE BEST out of all the cruise lines for what is on the package. Spoiled me completely. Definitely got my money's worth... Right after our cruise, they raised the rate. :o:p It included specialty coffees, juices, bottle water and UNLIMITED drinks. Great way to sample martinis. :D

Dh and I are going to try it this coming cruise!! Every cruise is different for me.

Went on one with my mom and only had champagne on the last night. Went with all our adult kids had several but not a lot. Went with adult kids and grandkids had some but even less than before.

This time only dh & I. Even though it sounds expensive for the week, I think it will be fun!! Having a Mimosa or two in the mornings, two or three afternoon drinks, a couple of glasses of wine at dinner and maybe something during the shows - that could easily be 8. Plus getting to try different drinks would be fun.

I can't wait to try it!!! Next cruise it will depend on who all is going and what will be planned.

We bought Cheers on our cruise in November. We found out that they enforce the 5 min rule. DH was playing pool, knocked over his "new" beer and had to wait 5 min to get another. We didn't know about that when we bought it. This is to keep people from sharing.

It's ok. For emergencies' date=' they have a St. Bernard for beers[/quote']

Good ones, yes 5 min. The bartender kept an eye on the clock for him.
