hello!! new to cruising advice please

Hi We are new to cruising, never cruised before. We have booked to go on the Ventura balcony cabin A258 Caribbean cruise.

Can someone tell me is this cabin ok ? And if you could suggest tips on if we should book the ships trips or wait till we are there that would be great, sorry for so many questions, thanks in advance :):):)

As far as I am concerned, if you have a cabin on a cruise ship, you have a great cabin. :) To get more specifics about the ship and your cabin, you will probably do better asking on the section for the cruise line.

 

Often, private tours are cheaper than those offered by the ship. But you must do your homework before the cruise to determine what you want to do in a port and how you want to do it.

A guidebook will really help you with choosing what you want to do ashore...and will help you figure out HOW to do it! Many things are easy to do on your own, if you have the info!!!

There are two other boards you need to check out: the Roll Call for your ship and the Ports of Call boards for the ports you'll be visiting. You may find lots of information on both of those.

I know many will disagree with me but since this is your first cruise I would suggest you go with the cruise line's shore excursions. Yes, they will be a bit more expensive than the independent ones but to me the comfort and security tilts the scales that way. Hopefully this will be the first of many cruises for you and you'll have lots of opportunities to explore more on your own. JMHO.
