Ab Ovo Posted September 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2013 Cunard has a "Weddings at sea" post on YouTube … Has anyone ever seen one? How's that working out? Anyone know? Have you heard it is good for the line, have there actually been many services aboard? Where have services been held? Anyone been in one?
Fifer Posted September 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2013 On our recent QE trip, there was a 'Renewal of Vows' ceremony, which a couple we met attended. This was the 'at sea' celebration of a Civil Partnership which took place ashore before we sailed. Apparently it was very tastefully done and the ship pulled out a number of stops to make the event memorable. It took place in the small lounge between Churchill's and the Commodore Club and was presided over by the Captain. Chatting to the Hotel Manager, who had been involved in the organising of the ceremony, she told us that there had not been many on QE but they were proving more popular on the QM2. BlueRiband Posted September 13, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2013 On QM2 weddings take place in the Boardroom or Winter Garden according the the Cunard Wedding Brochure. Secular ceremonies only. (Although anybody serious about a religious service would get married in church or temple and not on a ship.)
