Losing 100lbs? In 4 months?

It took me almost 24 months to lose 20 lbs.

That's unusually slow. Most people who adopt a healthy diet and exercise plan will lose a pound a week without much effort. In fact many people will lose about that just by cutting things like soda and chips out of their diet and replacing with water and vegetables.

Already was doing what you said. My DW had to reduce her carb amount.

I just tagged along to support her.

  • 3 months later...
So it probably isn't possible considering what is going on, and my life in general.

I have always been big. When I got married in 2008, I was 280lbs. Five years and a baby later, I am 325. I want to feel better and not be embarrassed when I have to take of my shirt. I want to be able to go on excursions, and fit in airplane seats. My issue, is that I can't stick to anything. Diets, work out plans, nothing. Mainly because I never see immediate results.

We are cruising on Princess on Jan 4th, 2014, four months from now. In a perfect world, I would be 100lbs lighter. I would be thrilled to be back down around 280 though...

I am willing to listen to anyone's ideas.

Hi, I just read your posts and was going to offer a diet to you where I lost 20 pounds a month with no or little exercise - given to me by a nutritionist. IT's a high protein, no fat, no sugar no/low carb diet - you take vitamins while you are on it and much like other diets - your body goes in ketosis.

Anyway, if you are still interested I can email it to you, but the main reason I wanted to write you is to ask if you had success in your weight loss before your cruise and if you had a great time on your cruise!

My cruise is upcoming and I'm hoping to lose some pds to help me with the walking.

Check with your GP first and get a referral to a biatratic / weight loss specialist. They have options that include following a strict food diet plan ( more involved than those TV diet food plans) , as well as discussions on Biatratic surgery. The Lap Band is becoming less if a procedure over biatratic surgery and provides better outcomes. Medical plans will support this process as they find the "co-mordibities" associated with over-weight (diabities, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, thyroid etc) are reduced or eliminated. This in turn reduces the impact on you needing serious emergency care etc.

It is also a commitment to a life change if you do the surgery.

Usually your health plan will require you to diet for 3 to 6 months before they will approve the surgery. If after that you still have a high BMI, then you qualify for surgery. Then there is a special pre-op process as well as post-op. Again, this needs to be a commitment on your life style. No real magic bullets.

Good luck!

Hi, I was reading some of the threads and I ran into this one and your post in particular. I have over 100 to lose and 2 years ago I committed and lost 80 lbs. On the flip side, I had tonsils removed and then 2 months later had to have my gall bladder removed. My dr eluded that the gallbladder was due to my weight loss. I lost the 80 in about 6 months. I ate correctly and went to the gym 5 times a week. After the surgeries things started to crumble and I slowly went back to my old ways. I am now back to my original weight. Sad since I was only about 30 lbs away from my goal. Anyhow, I need a kickstart. Something. I would very much be interested in what you did.. Thanks,,,

Hi guys,

It's about 4-5 pages typewritten, can you give me your emails and I will email it to you? It really does work! I started it again, but not faithfully and I've lost 12 pounds already.

I tried to attach it here so I hope I did it right, if not, can you do a private message on here somehow so you aren't posting your email for all to see?

Please let me know if you try it and how it goes for you guys! Good luck!

After you lose the 100 lbs in 4 months ,how much will you gain back? Most people after doing a diet similar to that usually gain it back plus more. The winner on the biggest loser gain his loss plus an extra 50 lbs.
