i1981star Posted September 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2013 Does anybody have an experience in PV or Cabo? My son wants to do this, but I've found so many options that its a bit overwhelming. Also, it would be great if there is a way for me, and his little sister to observe while he does it. Any recommendations for or against any would help.

Any recommendations for or against any would help. This is a hot button here. I'm surprised that you have not been overwhelmed with posts about how evil the dolphin swim is. We have done it in Cabo, and loved it! If only part of your party is swimming with the dolphins, the rest of the party will be given wrist bands which allow you access to the upper deck where you can sit in a shaded area and watch everyone that is swimming. At the end of the swim, those that are observing will be given the opportunity to wade out in ankle deep water to pet the dolphins. You will need to book through your ship, as the Cabo dolphins will not ordinarily allow walk-ins on cruise days. It costs a bit more, but the advantage is that since Cabo is a tendered port, you might spend over an hour in line trying to board a tender....those that have booked an excursion through the ship will be given VIP tendering (a member of the ship will escort you to the front of the line), which means that you can get ashore one or two hours earlier than everyone else. Maryshops1 Posted October 25, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2013 Our granddaughters (ages 10 and 12)and my husband did the swim in PV last year. We reserved through the Princess excursions on board. They had a great time, especially my husband! I was able to watch and the spectators were fairly close and able to hear and see the trainers and swimmers. The dolphin swim in PV is located in a beautiful resort area with trees and exotic birds with about a 20 minute bus ride from the pier so you do get to see some of PV and the resorts. Cabo's swim is just a short walk up the port area. Mary

Great trip and very easy to book on your own and save TONS of money. (You also get to be at water park longer if you book on own:) Lynn :D

CWcruisers Posted March 2, 2014 #9 Share Posted March 2, 2014 We have done the water park/swim with dolphins twice now is PV. Great trip and very easy to book on your own and save TONS of money. (You also get to be at water park longer if you book on own:) Lynn :D The cruise lines are now looking at the list of people signed up for the day and if it's discovered that you are from the ship, you could be cancelled. If this is something you really want to do, stay with the ship excursion.
