awatt Posted July 7, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2005 Our 8/7 intinerary has been changed to the overnight in Nassau. I am wondering what things there is time to do the following morning. Excursions in the brochure look too long for the 11:30 AM back on board. We like the beach. Have shopped Nassau a few times so probably not this time. Is there enough time to go to Cable Beach for a few hours? Anyway, i'm looking for suggestions from those who have done the overnight regarding AM activities or excursions. YacFamily Posted July 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2005 If you book a tour, etc. via excursion desk they will explain very well the time frames. If your return should be tardy, it is the ship's responsibility to wait since it is one of their tours. As you are in port overnight, some tours depart the ship a little earlier in the AM to have enough time. Bon Voyage, Terry Dream Nassau thing to do ..... rent a roon at Atlantis for the night to AM then you get all their amenities !!!!

ramidon1 Posted July 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2005 Have you spent time on Paradise Island? The beaches are nicer to me than Cable Beach. I think you would have time for either location. They have water taxis from Paradise Island to the port. Or you can take a "regular" cab. The casino at Atlantis is gorgeous. The beach is also lovely...if you don't want to go to Atlantis, maybe one of the other hotels on the beach...
2Cruise4Ever Posted July 10, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2005 I assume you're on the Dawn? We came back from the Dawn with an overnight in Nassau about 3 weeks ago. Loved it, loved it, loved it. We went to Atlantis as soon as we docked. About a 15 minute cab ride ($4 pp). The aquarium there (called the "Dig.") is free at night. During the day it is $29 pp  We took our 2 kids (2 and 7) and we all loved it. There are parts of the aquarium that are free during the day, but it is limited. Then, in the morning, we did our shopping and hit the straw market. We had no problem making it back to the ship by 11:30. If you book an excursion through NCL, you'll be back in time. Otherwise, they have to wait for you (for a reasonable amount of time). On our trip, there were 4 people left behing :( They weren't on an NCL sponsored excursion. Don't know what happened, but they missed the boat (according to the wonderful Hotel Director, Hugo).

ilinda Posted July 22, 2005 #7 Share Posted July 22, 2005 I went to St. Thomas and visited their aquarium 6 yrs ago and we did an evening viewing. the big problem was we could barely see any of the fish because the sun shines on some of the tanks, creating the light needed for better viewing. How is the night time viewing here at the Atlantis aquarium. Thanks
