reneeadams Posted October 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 1, 2013 Was thinking about playing The Black Pearl Golf Course. Has anyone played it? How far is it from the terminal? Do you have to store your clubs in your cabin or will Carnival store for you? Thanks
texancruzer Posted October 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2013 Dh played the course on a one week stay in July '12....... I drove the golf cart :) He has played courses at 5 star resorts all over....... and he said this was the nicest course of them all. It has ALOT of varied terrain (fun in the golf cart) and is manicured to the nth degree....... beautiful views too. It is NOT cheap however. He rented clubs tho. Mahogany Bay is fairly close - we came from Infinity Bay on WEst Bay BEach but I would guestimate about 5-10 minute taxi ride from where you will dock. Cant help with bag storage question - haven't ever sailed Carnival.
Rare crewsweeper Posted October 1, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2013 I beleive on Carnival you just check your clubs in as luggage and stow them in your cabin. You might talk to your PVP or have your TA call and find out. If the ship you're sailing on has a driving range, they'll typically have a pro on board and information about stowing your clubs. However, if Roatan is your only golf stop, renting might be less of a hassle. I'll add that Black Pearl is in the Pristine Bay Resort which is to the northeast of French Harbor. Probably 5 miles or so from Mahogany Bay by taxi. Cheaper taxis are available "over the hill" just outside the main gate than right outside the cruise port's shopping area, but could be a bit of a hike with a set of clubs and stuff.
