Ok I see pics of people winning the $2500 on Facebook every day and wonder.. if anyone knows of anyone winning it or have themselves.. how much did you spend to win it? just curious... I know its just luck but wondering if anyone has won it before on here.

It is skill based with some luck thrown in - you can tell once you start playing it. If you are not lined up correctly, the lever will release immediately upon your pressing of the button, triggering a miss. If you are lined up correctly, a delay will occur before the machine releases the mechanism after you press the button, prompting a miss. Based upon the prize value, I am guessing that it will randomly allow a hit every so often when the lever is lined up correctly, triggering a win. This is only my theory, but I severely doubt that the casino on the cruise line would allow a completely skill based game in play, and I have played it, so I know that there is more to it than just pure luck (like a slot machine). I think that makes it an appealing attraction to some.

Although, I haven't won, I fancy these games because it does have to do with a little luck and a lot of skill. I set my budget at $20 (I know pretty low, but I'm not that mad if I lose $20, anything more than that I can't deal with, LOL), that's 20 tries so if I miss, that's it. But I know if I upped my budget I could get it, because I am usually just smidgen off, so much so that people typically will watch me because I'm closer than most. I do know people on the Victory have one numerous times, which wanted to make me want to try again.

Maybe this cruise, I'll go for $25.

ok so its $1 dollar for each try? interesting.. might give it a try just for the heck of it.. i'm not a gambler but that machine caught my eye lol.

Yup. You have better luck with those machines then the slots, go for it! BUT give yourself a budget, I can see where a person would want to drop just one more dollar.

Thank heavens my DH is a blackjack guy, so he recoups my $20. :D

My husband and I play the casinos all the time, and I'm thinking that I will try it. We go on a big cruise trip every other year, so our cruise next year, we can go all out and gamble like we want. Who knows, maybe we will get lucky and hit! I won $300 on my last cruise on a $1 machine (woo hoo)! I had only put in a $20 and pulled the lever twice before it hit.

The machine is programmed to only pay off (over all) after certain points in time. You can have the most skilled person in the world play that a hundred times in a row, if it's not TIME, it's not going to happen.

LINK which might shed more light on this.

If it's even in part a programmed payout like a slot machine then why aren't games like it and the Vault turned off when the casino isn't open?

I've wondered the same thing... must be some kind of loophole that they're taking advantage of.

5 people won different amounts on the Elation last week. One guy that didn't win while i was there told me he put in 50.00 already.....i was mezmerized at how many people played and or stood around watching others play...it was always busy! Carnival makes a killing on that machine.

Same for us while on the Imagination .I looked at my wife and she looked at me in complete confusion. Always people waiting to play and watching .It was always busy and the casino wasn't .When we cashed out at the casino cage our cashier gave us each a free try coupon

As I think about it more I think maybe the casino gave out free tries to get people hooked like every other drug dealer :)

I cashed the money on my card out and she gave me one and told me to tell my wife to come get hers. We have played in the past so I knew pretty much to not play but I couldn't believe how many people played them (their were two on the Imagination) and they were both always full of players and those that think they could win :)

For whatever reason they are still classified as games of chance. You find them in the US Mainland in arcades, bars, restaurants etc Google Sega key master and you can read about how the machines are set to keep you from winning.

Here is a link to the schematics of the machine.
