Car rental at LeHavre

my husband and I would like to rent a small car, close or at, the cruise terminal on Sunday, October 27th. Grateful for any tips.

Unfortunately, there is only a single rental car agency that has a location at the port (inside the terminal building) and they are often (but not always) closed on Sunday. You can try to e-mail them and ask about their port office. The web site of the company is http://www.rentacar.fr. Otherwise, you would need a taxi to get to other rental car offices and most (if not all) will also be closed on Sunday. A quick check told me that Europcar, Budget, Avis and Hertz are all closed on Sundays. Unfortunately, this is the reality in both France and Italy (except at major airports). Frequent travelers (like moi) often plan their trips and cruises based on this type of info. When we book a European cruise we always look at where the ship will be located on Sundays (and Mondays in Italy) and many times will change the cruise (or even cruise line) because of this info.

 

The reality about many Europeans and European businesses is that they will not give-up a day off to make money.

I have a rental car reserved thru them next Sunday and Monday (13, 14 Oct). They will be open when the Infinity arrives on Sunday. Somewhat expensive, but way cheaper than ship tours. They said no problem parking at the port overnight. Was very easy to do on their website.
