My Very First Cruise ( My Photo Review aboard the Carnival Fantasy) Oct 1-6, 2013

I wondered if anyone else caught on that it was the Disney Dream! I know the feeling of tailing this fleet. We were practically port by port with DCL Fantasy on CCL Dream and practically drooled over it. For some reason, it seemed SO MUCH BIGGER than the CCL Dream, not sure why? They are both pretty big. Well anyway we got set foot on that DCL Dream beauty about 5 weeks after the CCL Dream! It definitely and totally lives up to its reputation for us! First DCl and definitely not the last. And speaking of DCL Magic, with all her new 'work' with refitting multimillion $$ dry dock, she is looking QUITE nice and we can't wait to be sailing her in May!

 

Does Disney have casinos? My wife likes casinos!

I have a question I hope you can help with. When in Port in Nassau and Freeport, which side of the ship will be facing the city?

 

Actually, I noticed in Nassau they park backed in or straight in...IdK what that depends on, so I guess it would depend on if the captain backs in or not. Now in Freeport....I have NO IDEA:(....Dang, I wish I knew. Hopefully someone on here can help us with that.

 

 

 

As your final post for the review had me wiping tears from my eyes, I had to start from the beginning to get my laugh on again. I enjoyed your review very much. Only one thing, can I have my favorite ship back?

I decided to look at you review because last year my DW and I took our grand daughter on the Fantasy. We loved it, and living about 18 miles from Charleston I will cruise on her again.

I usually read the reviewers first couple of sentences and then usually end up just scrolling through the pictures. So I read and laughed and read some more. Started last night at work and just finished. What an awesome review, great pictures and you definitely have a gift for putting your thoughts to print that keep the rest of us addicts wanting more. You need to sign up for your next cruise so we can have something to look forward to.

The best of luck with your final semester, I'm sure you are going to do well.

Leading up to the cruise we kept telling each other "hey...we are gonna have a blast...no matter what....we on a cruise and we are Together"...and u know what?...we really did.

 

That's EXACTLY the attitude my honey bunny and I have when we cruise. How can it be anything less that spectacular when we're on *vacation* and on e a *cruise* no less? With each other? That is the good life for us!!!!!!!! All the rest is gravy! :D My hubby actually proposed to me on the Carnival Miracle, on his first cruise, on the first formal night (evening of the second full day I think?). I thought he was hating his first cruise the first two days... he looked so miserable. Turns out he was just nervous as all get-out about proposing (the proposal came as a complete surprise to me since I don't think we'd talked about the topic of marriage for over a year prior). Funniest part? He was partially sick to his stomach b/c he couldn't find the engagement ring he'd hidden the morning we flew out to Fort Lauderdale, and he had to buy a cheap @ss ring from the ship store that turned my finger GREEN all week! LOLOLOL! I love that green-finger ring!!!! :D :D He ended up proposing alot earlier than he planned because he was afraid I'd see the ring purchase on our shipboard account, LOL!!!!! I'm not sure why I just wrote that story here (I guess because it was his first cruise... and cruises make for great proposal backdrops should that ever arise ;)). He did have a ball after that night!

Our bags were not there yet so we put our carry-ons down and headed up to the lido deck. It was around 1:30 at this time and of course it was jumping.

 

We stopped at the Mongolian Grill which you would have thought they were slipping little gold pebbles in the bowl or something cause the line was bananas. After 20 minutes or so I did manage to get this...

Besides...them Carnival drinks got a knockout blow that you just don't see coming till its too late. One minute you sucking them down and chasing them with wine from the room and next thing you know you doing the cupid shuffle with a group of grandmas from Boise....*shrug*
