cruiser01 Posted October 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2013 We will be doing a aft penthouse suite on the breakaway in July 2014. My understanding is that there are bathrobes. We are traveling with 2 kids (6 & 3). Does NCL have bathrobes available in kids sizes?
rvsullivan Posted October 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2013 I've never heard of anyone getting childrens robes. You can ask, but I wouldn't plan on it. Always been unisex and unisize.
cruiser01 Posted October 13, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted October 13, 2013 What about in the spa? I know they offer kid/teen massages. Would the spa have smaller sized bathrobes?
younglegend Posted October 14, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Trying to reserve judgment and maybe there's a perfectly good reason for asking. Why would a 6 or 3 year old need/want a bathrobe or massage?
lasefton Posted October 14, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2013 I would like a robe . But sounds like no robes in the inside cabins :( if we ask real nice do u think we could get a couple ?
cruiser01 Posted October 14, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Duplicate. Sorry
cruiser01 Posted October 14, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Appreciate the reserved judgment :) Agreed! 3 & 6 yr olds don't need massages. Was just asking if maybe the spa would have smaller sizes because the give kids/teens massages. My kids like bathrobes. It keeps them warm. And they look very cute in them. No big deal if they don't have them. Will pack ours. Just trying to avoid packing them if they have smaller ones on board.

There are limited numbers on board, but ask your steward, if they can find a couple they will. For those asking, please remember, these robes are nothing special, a waffle type material that is not particularly warm or thick. The robes in suites are somewhat better. My one and only Breakaway regret is not purchasing the suite robe when I sailed in July. They really are the best robes ever!! I'm sailing the Gem in July, 2014, and one of the biggest reasons I'm excited is so I can finally have the robe!!!:D
KroozeKid Posted October 14, 2013 #11 Share Posted October 14, 2013 If I am in a robe that means I am in my cabin (hopefully). Not where I want to be on my cruise for much more than sleeping, showering, or balcony cocktails B4 dinner. Of the 168 hours on board I may wear the robe for 3.5 hours (30 minutes a day) whilst I pretty up!
triptolemus Posted October 14, 2013 #12 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Somewhat related but I've been meaning to ask... are you supposed to take your robe from the suite?? We took ours (they're wonderful) but the more I read it seems like they aren't intended to be souvenirs...

triptolemus Posted October 14, 2013 #14 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Whoops!!!!! No, they are supposed to be left onboard. Well.... er, guess we'll leave the next ones. I figured they'd charge us for them if we weren't allowed to have them... no charge appeared though. Crap - oh well.
lasefton Posted October 14, 2013 #15 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Wonder how much they cost ?
rvsullivan Posted October 15, 2013 #16 Share Posted October 15, 2013 I think they send a bill for about $60-70 per robe. You can buy them in the gift shop for somewhere around that also. Some have reported a charge at a later time against the credit card used for the room charges.
WaldosPepper Posted October 15, 2013 #17 Share Posted October 15, 2013 I really wish they would add them to the online gift shop. Invariably I return home regretting that I hadn't bought one, and would snap one up in a heartbeat if I could buy it online. Maybe this next time I'll remember to get while I'm still onboard.

I am determined to purchase one next summer on the Gem! :D
